THE QUEEN'S UNIVERSITY OF BELFAST

Queen’s University Belfast (QUB) is a prestigious public research university located in Belfast, Northern Ireland. Established in 1845, it is the ninth oldest university in the UK and a member of the Russell Group, representing leading research-intensive institutions.

The university is renowned for its commitment to academic excellence and impactful research. In the 2021 Research Excellence Framework (REF), 99% of its research environment was rated as world-leading or internationally excellent .

Its Faculty of Medicine, Health and Life Sciences integrates world-class research centres, including the Patrick G. Johnston Centre for Cancer Research, the Wellcome-Wolfson Institute for Experimental Medicine, and the Centre for Public Health. These centres drive innovation in areas such as cancer, ophthalmology, respiratory disease, and public health .

QUB leads the £64 million iREACH Health initiative, a state-of-the-art clinical research facility co-developed with the Belfast Health and Social Care Trust and the Public Health Agency. Opening in 2027, iREACH will transform clinical trial delivery through digital innovation and cross-sector collaboration. QUB’s commitment to translational research and interdisciplinary collaboration makes it an ideal partner for an impactful research project such as I-SCREEN.
